The UNICEF Programme in Cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) is designed to address and mitigate the triple threat of poverty the country’s children face, while responding to the needs with interventions addressing the multiple causative factors.

In response to the combination these threats involve the Programme supports national efforts to improve service delivery in the key areas of: child health and nutrition and HIV and AIDS, quality basic education, water, sanitation and hygiene education, child protection and social policy, advocacy and communication. https://youtu.be/ePgDIQ9RVYs.

How can you make a difference?

To provide receptionist and other administrative duties to the Country Office by receiving visitors, receiving and making telephone calls, receiving mail, analyzing telephone bills and preparing personal bills for staff, arranging workshop and conferences venues including drafting of commitment letters for the approver’s signature and allocation of drivers and transport etc.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Receiving visitors and directing them to the relevant staff as appropriate, making , receiving and routing telephone calls to the relevant staff, receiving, registering and distribution of mail
  • Securing and arranging venues for conferences and workshops and assisting arriving visitors and staff with hotel bookings and airport transfer arrangements
  • Monitors and tracks the usage of telephones and analyses bills for official and personal use and prepares bills for personal use of telephone facilities
  • Assists with procurement of office related supplies and its distribution in the Office, and administration of other services in the office such as suppliers of newspapers, water, flowers, etc.
  • Supervises messengers and cleaners for the efficient running of the Office regarding distribution of mail, files and documents within and outside UNICEF ZAMBIA.
  • Assists the Office with Secretarial and administrative arrangements at seminars, workshops and conferences as appropriate.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

  • Completion of grade twelve (12) education with full GCE certificate.
  • Diploma/Degree in Business Administration and Front Office operations
  • Proficient in the use of computer software packages such as Microsoft word, excel, power point, SAP (Vision) other related software.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Administration /Finance/Front Office operations
  • Very good English language skills (fluency in writing, reading, comprehension/understanding, speaking) and knowledge of the local language is an asset.
