DanChurchAid (DCA) invites applications for an experienced Projects Coordinator for its Syria programme based North East Syria. This position is based on donor funding and is expected to start in September 2018.
The Projects Coordinator’s (PC) main responsibilities are to manage the overall planning, implementation and coordination of all DCA projects in North East Syria. The PC also plays a key role in liaison with humanitarian actors, local authorities and all other relevant stakeholders. The PC reports to the Programme Manager.

Applicants must have the following qualifications and experience:
University degree in a relevant subject such as Management / Development Studies / Business Administration or in a relevant technical subject
Post-graduate degree in the humanitarian sector, or equivalent experience
At least 3 years work experience with a humanitarian INGO
At least 2 years’ experience of managing projects and teams in insecure environments
Experience in dealing with donors and government officials
Advanced leadership, team building, project management, networking and advocacy skills are required
Flexibility and cultural awareness and sensitivity are essential
Computer literacy essential including proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
Experience with data analysis packages, tablets, smartphones, and associated software in assessments
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Kurdish or Arabic would be advantageous
The Projects Coordinator will have the following main responsibilities:
Project Management
Oversee the overall implementation of the DCA projects in NES in consultation with the relevant Technical Advisors, Coordinators and Managers and in accordance with the project proposals
Maintain an overview of the regional context
Support the Programme Manager in the development and production of new concepts and proposals
Ensure complete and timely reporting of activities
Representation:
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders and represent DCA at coordination meetings and working groups in all sectors
Financial and Logistics Management:
Assist with the preparation of budgets for new projects
Monitor the spending of the projects to ensure they operate in line with budget lines, as well as DCA and donor guidelines
Ensure procurement policies and procedures are followed in field offices
Quality Management:
Ensure designated projects are implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with DCA, donor and international standards
Regularly assess and provide feedback and recommendations on the quality of the projects and programme
Set up, manage and coordinate all Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning across all projects
