The Public Partnerships Officer will provide assistance and support, as member of the team, to the Public Partnerships Manager, in various aspect of external relations, resource mobilization and other related functions for assigned resource partners, and liaise, as necessary, with partner headquarters, UN agencies, UNICEF Headquarter Divisions and UNICEF Field Offices.  Responsible for contribution management and maintaining on-going contacts at working levels with these various offices.

UNICEF’s Public Partnerships Division (PPD) is looking to hire a committed and dynamic Public Partnerships Officer, who will provide assistance on various aspect of external relations, resource mobilization and related functions for public partners to UNICEF. The Public Partnerships Officer will liaise, as necessary, with the Capitals of Public Partners, Missions to the UN, UNICEF Headquarter Divisions and UNICEF Field Offices, and provide support on contribution management and maintaining on-going contacts at working levels with offices and teams across UNICEF.

The Public Partnerships Officer will be part of a small sub-team within the Public Partnerships Division and will report to the Public Partnerships Manager of that team.

The Public Partnerships Officer will provide assistance and support, as member of the team, to the Public Partnerships Manager, in various aspect of external relations, resource mobilization and other related functions for assigned resource partners, and liaise, as necessary, with partner headquarters, UN agencies, UNICEF Headquarter Divisions and UNICEF Field Offices.  Responsible for contribution management and maintaining on-going contacts at working levels with these various offices.

How can you make a difference?

Key functions/accountabilities and not limited to the bellow:

  1. Resource Mobilization and Relationship Management

Resource mobilization strategies:

  • Assist the Public Partnerships Manager in the mobilization of quality resources through the development of resource mobilisation strategies for assigned resource partners for flexible funding, as well as development and humanitarian resources.

Contribution agreements:

  • Assist the Public Partnerships Manager to support the development of framework agreements and template agreements, review of contracts, proposals, and reports.

Meetings and consultations:

  • Assist with the organization of Annual Consultations with partners, including preparation of the agenda, and ensure suitable participation of UNICEF and partner staff.
  • Assist the Public Partnerships Manager to prepare briefing notes and any other documentation required by the Executive Director and Senior Management for consultations and visits to and from assigned partners.

Partner liaison:

  • Assist the Public Partnerships Manager in managing day-to-day direct contact with partner Capitals.
  • Assist the Public Partnerships Manager to review and submit project proposals and reports to partners in a timely manner as required, and follow up as necessary with assigned partners.

UNICEF liaison:

  • Act as a link between assigned partners and UNICEF field offices/regional offices/HQ divisions. Ensure submission of UNICEF response to partners in a synthesized manner.
  1. Contribution Management
  • Assist the Public Partnerships Manager in the negotiation, review and clearing of partner agreements and amendments for signature, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations.
  • Share signed agreements and amendments with UNICEF’s Global Shared Service Center for processing in VISION.
  • Oversee timely submission of partner reports.
  • Support country offices to improve resource partner reporting.

To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in business administration, economics, international relations, social sciences, or related technical field.
    *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience at the national and international levels in programme management including financial management, monitoring and evaluation, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
