UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

We recognize that the first 1,000 days from the start of a woman’s pregnancy to a child’s second birthday offer an extraordinary window of opportunity for preventing undernutrition and its consequences. In light of this evidence, UNICEF is further strengthening its work to improve Women’s Nutrition in the context of its 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, with a particular focus on nutrition during pregnancy and lactation.

For every child, a hope….
