Humanitarian Health Consultant

REQUIRED SERVICES

FHI 360’s Crisis Response Team is seeking a humanitarian health expert with regional experience in South America and in-depth knowledge of the current migration crisis along the border of Venezuela and Colombia. Together with the Crisis Response Team’s Health Technical Advisor, the consultant will deploy to Colombia for two weeks to lead a rapid assessment of the humanitarian health care services available to migrant populations near the border with Venezuela. The consultant will arrange meetings with government and international stakeholders, conduct gap analyses of the current health screening systems, and assess the level of coordination between humanitarian actors.

Deliverables:

1) Written assessment of the current humanitarian health services available to Venezuelan migrants in Colombia and recommendation for proposed interventions.

2) Provide technical input to the development of a concept note for donor agencies.

DESIRED CANDIDATE/FIRM PROFILE

The ideal Contractor will possess the following skills:

1. In-depth knowledge of government health services in Colombia

2. Experience conducting rapid assessments/gap analyses of humanitarian health services

3. Experience building relationships with relevant health actors (PAHO, WHO, Ministry of Health, etc)

4. In-depth knowledge of the political dynamics of the current migrant crisis on the border with Colombia and Venezuela

5. In-depth knowledge of the donor environment in South America

6. Fluent in Spanish and English
