FGM Project Coordinator - 6 months- Nationals Only

UNFPA-UNICEF JP annual targets achieved by the end of 2018 as per results framework. All national and international partners are on track with FGM abandonment mainstreaming. That includes implementation of the plan of action in line ministries.

PAYMENT

Organize and coordinate periodic meetings with the national counterpart(s) regarding the progress with FGM abandonment and girls empowerment mainstreaming across sectors and ministries and provide periodic reports. That includes regular coordination meetings with the national strategy taskforce team on implementation's progress.

Conduct regular monthly monitoring check on progress as per results-based framework and provide monthly reports.

Report on development and dissemination of awareness materials.

Provide reports on progress of the adolescent girls empowerment programme and ensuring CP inputs are well reflected. Coordination with other sections on programme design, branding, mass communication and social media campaign and mainstreaming issues of violence against girls, such as FGM/C and others into life skills development curriculum

Regular follow up with NGO partner (ACDA) IN Upper Egypt and provided monthly reports on progress of implementation as per the NGO's contract and AWP

Monitor the Y-PEER on FGM abandonment awareness, life skills and the planned Y-PEER/ Meshwary integration. Consultant to provide training plan and reports

A plan for mainstreaming FGM into the ongoing programme on child protection system strengthening is developed and implemented.

Timely and appropriate documentation of inputs on FGM on work by the section and other UNICEF sections.

QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AND ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

Three-year professional work experience in project administration, including data collection and analysis preferably in child protection, adolescence programming and gender mainstreaming. 

  • Previous experience on working on adolescence development related issues, FGM/C abandonment or/and child rights
  • Well acquainted and experience with the Egyptian national system engaged in child protection and adolescence programming.
  • Previous experience in working in a developmental international organization

CONDITIONS OF WORK

Field-based.

Travel to needed destinations and attending office meeting when required.
