The United Nations Children’s Fund Jordan Country Office in Amman seeks a dedicated, experienced, highly motivated and proactive National Officer for its Donor Relations Team. Purpose for the job:

The United Nations Childrens Fund Jordan Country Office in Amman seeks a dedicated, experienced, highly motivated and proactive National Officer for its Donor Relations Team. Under the supervision of the Chief of Donor Relations, the Officer will contribute to including its Syria emergency response programme.

How can you make a difference?

1. Oversees the coordination of field visits and special events with donors; including supervision of the Donor Visits Coordinator.
2. Manages and develops the Gulf donors portfolio of the country office, ensuring regular review of developments from the donors side; maintains contact with the donor focal points in PPD; and maintains relations with the donor at a technical level in country.
3. Develops and manages partnerships with the private sector, in close collaboration with programme sections; maintains contact with the donor focal point in PFP; design and deliver short fundraising documents tailored to the needs of the private sector
4. Design and deliver briefing notes for Management when necessary. Provide inputs for background and briefing notes to the Partnerships section as well as other sections as necessary
5. Supports overall efforts on donor relations including meeting with donors, preparation of background information materials for meetings/visits of donors, and other special interest groups.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have: 

Education: University degree in business administration, public relations, journalism or a related science.

Experience: Two or more years of professional work experience in the field of development and/or emergency programming with demonstrated experience in reporting, fundraising, monitoring of programme implementation, and/or communication. Experience from the on-going Syria crisis or from another emergency context with UNICEF, another UN agency, or NGO is highly desirable.

Language requirement: Fluency in English and Arabic. Knowledge of another UN working language is an asset.
