Camp Management Manager - Anbar

This position is based in Baghdad with frequent travel and overnight stays in Anbar (Falluja)

 

About the job

The Camp Management Manager is responsible for implementing project activities in the assigned area relating to direct camp management and leading mobile site management operations, including supervising implementation of technical activities, e.g. site maintenance/repairs. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

  • Oversee all Camp Management projects including providing support to local camp management and coordination of services within formal camps. As well as managing the Community Resource Center (CRC) activity that provides assistance and coordination of services in a key return area of Fallujah
  • Through the cluster system and DRC coordination, contribute actively to strategic discussions related to forced evictions, returns and camp consolidation and closure
  • Take an active role in advocacy, data sharing and coordination with the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) cluster and its partners, as well as the Returns Working Group (RWG)
  • Through a national staff Team Leader, manage a team of 7-10 national Camp Management staff including hiring and performance management, with specific attention to providing technical oversight in line with CCCM and international standards
  • Manage procurement, spending and staffing of multiple project budgets from international donors such as ECHO and OFDA
  • Contribute to project design and proposal development including narrative and budget components
  • Ensure compliance with HR, administration, finance, logistics and safety procedures as they relate to Camp Management operations
  • Oversee implementation of data collection tools including tool development, data collection, training, analysis and data sharing

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Minimum of 3 years in the humanitarian sector including management positions. Moreover, we also expect the following:

 

 

Required

  • Previous international deployments required; experience in conflict zones desirable
  • Previous experience in camp management
  • Previous roles emphasizing external coordination advantages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong diplomacy and proactive problem solving skills required
  • Expertise in management of teams required

 

Desirable

  • University degree; relevant field of study preferred (international affairs, international development, management, etc.)
  • Working fluency in English required
  • Arabic a strong advantage

We offer

Contract length: 12 Mnoths

Level: A15 if on Expat contract. The applicable salary will apply if a national staff is selected according to DRC Iraq’s national staff salary scale.

Designation of Duty Station: Non family Duty Station

Start date: 01 September 2018
