Organizational Setting
 

Under the overall supervision of the Regional Programme Leader, the Regional Initiative Coordination Team of the Regional Office is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the programme in the European and Central Asia Region. The Team comprises of national and international staff members of different technical disciplines and is organized by Regional Initiatives in Europe and Central Asia. 

 

Reporting Lines

 

The incumbent will directly report to the Regional Programme Leader.

 
Technical Focus
 

Programme and management assistance (including programme, monitoring and reporting and the respective administrative duties)

 
Tasks and responsibilities
 

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Programme Leader (RPL) the incumbent will provide programme and management assistance in the overall Coordination of the Regional Initiatives.

 
Specifically the incumbent will\:
 
  • Provide assistance in Regional Initiative and Strategic Programme Coordination particularly regarding the management of the immediate office of the RPL in close collaboration with the Planning, Monitoring and Operations Officers facilitating also communication with DDP, OSD, SPLs, Regional SP Teams and RI Delivery Managers
  • Provide support to the RPL in written and electronic communication and particularly maintain and manage the generic email account for the RPL including proactively communicating on behalf of the RPL
  • Provide support to the RPL regarding the management of staff and non-staff, human resource including management of interview processes and preparation of reports
  • Provide support to the RPL regarding travel and budget in collaboration with the Administration Unit
  • Organize meetings, workshops and prepare summary records of discussions or meeting minutes if so requested
  • Prepare a wide range of reports, official documentation and communication for various team members
  • Provide support to the country offices, regional initiatives delivery managers, regional initiative coordinator regarding monitoring and reporting on the Strategic Framework in close collaboration with the Monitoring Officer
  • Undertake other related tasks as required
 

 
 
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
 
 
Minimum Requirements
  • University degree in international relations, public administration, public policy or related field;
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, including in project management, programming, monitoring and reporting;
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of one of the other UN languages (Russian is considered an asset).
