NRC in the Islamic Republic in Iran

NRC started operations in Iran in 2012. We currently deliver humanitarian assistance in 6 provinces in the sectors of Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA). We co-lead several technical inter-agency working groups and provide capacity building to humanitarian partners in country. Next to our programs, NRC Iran also built an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives amongst INGOs to improve rights of the displaced.

Following several recent breakthroughs, NRC Iran is scaling up substantially its activities in support of the Government of Iran efforts towards an estimated 3,6 million Afghans residing in country and is expanding its programme unit.

About the position: Logistics Assistant for NRC Iran

NRC is now seeking a dedicated Logistics Assistant to support NRC Iran's logistics unit activity and responsibilities.  The Logistics Assistant will support the Logistics Coordinator in ensuring smooth and efficient performance of logistics and handling interfaces with program units and other support function.

Task Description

• Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
• Assist with the implementation of support functions portfolio according to the plan of action
• Keep updated inventories of office and equipments and supplies and provide timely processing of updates and orders
• Ensure proper filing of documents (communication, logistics records, etc.).
• Ensure office assets are kept in working conditions and properly tagged
• Assist in drafting, submitting and follow up on written communication between NRC and external counterparts
• Assist in sourcing and evaluation of suppliers and development of vendor database
• Some travel should be expected

Qualifications

• Experience of working as a support function assistant/officer in humanitarian/recovery context
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibility
• Good knowledge of English
• Good knowledge of IT systems, working with Microsoft Windows and Office
• Experience in procurement, inventory and asset management
