Develop & expand partnerships with existing and new foundations and corporates in Romandie to deliver on demanding income targets.

Project Overview

Medair Headquarters (HQ) provides operational guidance for country programmes, along with both technical and compassionate support for our relief workers. Within our headquarters and affiliate offices, we are also responsible for promoting the work of Medair to the world, to raise and manage the funds needed to run our life-saving and sustaining programmes, and to recruit international and HQ staff.

Medair’s Marketing & Relationships department is responsible for raising private funds, supporting recruitment efforts, and building awareness about Medair externally. Our team is made of passionate people committed to delivering exceptional engagement and creating high value and loyalty for our key stakeholders.

Key Activity Areas

Existing Key Fundraising Relationships

  • Manage a portfolio of existing supporters (foundations, local public entities, corporations) to sustainably generate significant income.
  • Build positive and sustainable face-to-face relationship.
  • Review and develop strategy and plans to optimally steward key relationships.
  • Present Medair, programmes, projects, products and other funding opportunities.
  • In collaboration within programmes and finance staff, draft compelling, bespoke project summaries, presentations, proposals and reports based on field information.
  • Maintain appropriate records of interactions and outcomes, using fundraising CRM and others.

New Key Fundraising Relationships

  • Initiate and develop new key fundraising relationships with foundations, local public entities, corporations).
  • Plan and implement fundraising and development initiatives (products, events, etc.) to engage and build profitable relationship with potential supporters.
  • Craft outstanding bespoke partnership offers or products.
  • Attend relevant events for networking purposes and get in contact with prospects.
  • Present Medair, programmes, projects, products and other funding opportunities.
  • Maintain appropriate records of interactions and outcomes, using fundraising CRM and others.

Project Information Sharing

  • Collect key information related to programme strategy and implementation (read programmes’ documentation, engage with programme’s staff).
  • Share information with other team members.

Innovation / Changes

  • Stronger emphasis on developing new partnerships with foundations and corporates.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (Eg. fundraising, Wealth management, Philanthropy).
  • Strong working knowledge of English and French (spoken and written).

Experience / Competencies

  • Needs to be well settled in Romandie, know the main Philanthropy networks.
  • Demonstrable professional success in the area of fundraising / marketing / sales.
  • Experience in developing high value relationships.
  • Experience in the private sector.
  • Advanced user of MS Office. Experience of CRM / sales management software.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. Excellent copywriting skills.
  • Inspirational communicator, able to engage different audiences.
  • Commitment to discretion & confidentiality.
  • Understanding of international and humanitarian context.
  • People-oriented, relational, excellent networking & influencing skills, pioneer and self-driven, organised, persistent, collaborative team player.

Working Conditions

  • Swiss or eligible EU citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Switzerland, can apply.
  • This is a HQ based position, involving travelling across Romandie and occasional travel to the field.
