The Human Resources Unit of UNICEF Chad is engaged in several HR projects that aim at improving our diversity, talent acquisition, customers service, recruitment and information management. We are looking for dynamic and motivated Chadian interns to join our team and contribute to those exciting projects.

How can you make a difference?

  1. Support to talent outreach and acquisition strategy through the creation of rosters of ready-to-hire talented applicants for various profiles
  1. Support the implementation of UNICEF Chad’s gender strategy by actively participating in all outreach campaigns, including:

a. Identification of relevant Chadian candidate groups in country and abroad;

b. Research on relevant national academic programmes;

c. Identification of national outreach channels, particularly targeting underrepresented group.

d. Participation in outreach events (virtual and non-virtual).

 

  1. Creatively re-organize and migrate information from the local shared drive to One Drive. 
  2. Provide support to the creation of HR services Catalogues and Service Level Agreements (SLA) with Business Partners.
  3. Prepare a compendium of adopted HR best practices used to strengthen our guidance and capacity building of our Business partners.
  4. Support to HR Data and information management

Timeframe:

28 weeks starting in September 2018.

Supervision:

You will be working under the close guidance, training and supervision of the HR Manager.

Ndjamena, Chad

 Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years, in one of the following fields Business and Management, Human Resources, Psychology, Social Sciences.  
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and computer skills (MS applications, especially Word, Access and Excel).
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good planning and organizing skills 
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be proficient in French (native speaker level or equivalent) with working knowledge of English
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and
  • Have no other relatives in the line of authority which that you will report to.
  • Additional consideration will be given to any past professional experience.
  • Be of Chadian nationality.

Conditions of Intern:

Expenses: Please note that Internships at UNICEF are unpaid. However, a stipend will be offered as a contribution towards transportation costs.

Health/Medical insurance: Intern is required to hold valid health/accident insurance. UNICEF accepts no responsibilities for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the internship whether on or off UNICEF premises.

Employment: There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.
