The Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist will be responsible for analyzing complex data and information to produce content, knowledge products and learnings for UNICEF’s work on private sector fundraising, advocacy, engagement and communications. The KM Specialist will also support the design and delivery of technical and strategic workshops that advance results for children with the private sector.

UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) maximizes income and influence from the private sector (individual supporters and donors, philanthropists, foundations and corporates) to deliver results for children through fundraising, engagement and partnerships. This position is supervised by the Chief of Strategic Planning and works closely with the PFP PRIME team including the Knowledge Management Manager that leads on the Knowledge Management Framework, the head of Internal Communications and the Planning and Monitoring Specialists.

The Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist will be responsible for analyzing complex data and information to produce content, knowledge products and learnings for UNICEF’s work on private sector fundraising, advocacy, engagement and communications. The KM Specialist will also support the design and delivery of technical and strategic workshops that advance results for children with the private sector.


How can you make a difference? 

  • Use your expertise to transfer information, knowledge and skills to help regional and country offices, National Committees, PFP and other Divisions achieve the goals of UNICEF’s 2018-2021 Private Sector IMPACT Plan.  

 

  • By being strategic and future oriented - developing information and knowledge products that will have long-term appeal and which will support the delivery of the IMPACT Plans goals in the most efficient way. 

 

  • Ensure that PFP Division and UNICEF globally has useful, valid and reliable information on both the expected results and the performance of private sector fundraising, engagement, advocacy and communications activities in UNICEF.

 

  • Coordinate, compile, generate and manage knowledge content and knowledge products that enhance and promote country office and National Committee understanding of UNICEF’s work with the private sector, to align on shared goals and collectively track progress on commitments for children.

 

  • Facilitate the development of strategic documents and reports on results and activities for the PFP Division and the Executive Board.

 

  • Support the development and updating of content for the PFP Intranet site and other platforms.

 

  • Support the development and implementation the knowledge management priorities of the PFP Division.

 

  • Enable timely communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing among PFP and the different stakeholders through both online and face to face knowledge exchange.


To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

An advanced university degree in International Relations, Communication, Marketing, Social Sciences, or another relevant technical field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two years of experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.


A minimum of five years of professional experience in knowledge management, reporting and/or planning is required.

A strong content development background is required, including ability to develop info and visual graphics, management of share point, data visualization, information management, and development of compelling and engaging power points.

Excellent writing skills (in English) and analytical skills are required.

UNICEF experience would be an asset

Previous experience working with the private sector would be an asset

International exposure would be an asset


Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
