Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. Context:

The Media and Communications Division (MCD) of IOM is comprised of experienced communications professionals based in Geneva but also in Washington, Bangkok and Manila. The team provides support on media and public information issues to IOM Headquarters and missions worldwide. It is responsible for media relations as well as producing a variety of other public information materials, including official statements to mark special events, multimedia products and press briefing notes on specific IOM activities.

Under the direct supervision of the Multimedia Team, the Intern will focus on supporting the timely presentation of audio-visual communications outputs to the media, general public and internally within IOM. These materials include press releases and briefing notes, photographs from the field, infographics, flyers, presentations and video.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

The Intern will have the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Assist in the production and editing of IOM audiovisual materials including thematic videos, promotional materials for the organizations campaigns and community engagement videos for dissemination over social media.

2. Develop and support dissemination of various templates and presentations using Adobe editing tools as well as PowerPoint.

3. Produce a series of corporate visibility products to be used in HQ, regional offices and the field to enhance the brand image of IOM.

4. Support MCD initiatives on data visualization of feedback collected in the field to enhance the quality of work produced and ensure consistency with IOM branding Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

Page 1 / 3• Minimum 2 years university studies in Communications, Multimedia Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution

Experience

• Fluency in editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro, as well as other Adobe editing tools;

• Previous experience in video editing and production;

• Ability to work effectively in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds;

• Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines; Languages

• Good knowledge of spoken and written English; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish an advantage.
