In Serbia, UNOPS has been active since 2000, became the Project Centre (RSPC) in 2013, and was reclassified, due a growing portfolio, to Operations Centre (RSOC) at the beginning of 2017. UNOPS has been a reliable partner of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in providing support for demanding socio-economic reforms and facilitating accession to the European Union.

Currently, the RSOC is implementing ten projects focussed on: sustainable municipal development, creation of more favourable environment for employability, business and infrastructure growth, enhanced social inclusion via durable housing solutions and access to health, education and jobs for the most vulnerable population, recovery from damages incurred by May 2014 floods in Serbia and building climate-resilient infrastructure. All projects have good governance and gender equality as transversal theme. UNOPS projects are contextualised within the broader Sustainable Development Goals framework and objectives.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the ICT Officer, the On-call ICT Assistant will support efficient and effective ICT management ensuring high quality of work, accurate and timely service delivery.

In particular, the On-call ICT Assistant will perform following tasks:

  • Installation and maintenance of hardware, software and network connection in accordance with corporate instructions
  • Troubleshooting and resolving of hardware, network connection, printer and software issues
  • Oversight of automatic installations of windows patches and anti-virus updates
  • Assist in installation of updates and drivers as requested
  • Assist in maintenance of inventory of all computer, telecommunication equipment and software, ensuring compliance with registration and upgrades
  • Assist in preparation of technical specifications for ICT equipment
  • Assist during the handover of equipment from UNOPS to project beneficiaries
  • Perform minor interventions on wired installations and telephone system and/or advise on interventions needed from specialized services
  • Provide end-user support in ICT matters as requested
  • Perform other ICT maintenance related services as required

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education
  • Secondary education required. 
  • University Degree in information sciences, computer sciences or electrical engineering will be considered as an asset.

Work Experience

  • Five years of experience in the field of information technology and/or telecommunications systems is required

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in Serbian and English is required

Driving licence

  • Driving license and ability to travel independently is required

Contract type, level and duration

This is a local position, it is therefore open to Nationals of Serbia and to individuals who have a valid residence/work permit.
Contract type: Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA)
Contract level: Local ICA 5
Contract duration: Up to 100 w/days in the period of one year with possibility of extension
