Job description

Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Professional Development Plan.

1. Undertake ICLA activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
2. Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements
3. Involve and inform communities and local leaders about ICLA activities
4. If requested, to break down operational plans into monthly activity plans
5. Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders and partners
6. Ensure that procurement and distribution of materials and equipment is done in a timely fashion and according to procedures
7. Participate in any training, capacity building exercises
8. Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
9. Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches, if relevant, in order to improve the quality of the activities.

Specific responsibilities
• Work in the daily field operations of ICLA Projects in North West Region, which includes issues such as working in Housing Land and Property (HLP) rights, information and counselling etc
• Make linkages and cooperate with local authorities and local communities for the proper implementation of agreed work plans
• Assist along with ICLA CC Specialist, ICLA Project Manager, ICLA Technical Officer, ICLA Assistants in the preparation and conducting of various trainings including CDR trainings
• Assist ICLA CC Specialist, ICLA Project Manager, ICLA Technical Officer in the preparation reports as required
• Generate village profile and other field related documents/ reports when required
• Attend meetings with various stakeholders including local authorities, local communities in North West Region when required
• Ensure that information and counselling sessions are properly implemented
• Ensure that ICLA activities are carried out in line with appropriate standards and report on any incident of malpractice to the ICLA Project Manager or the ICLA Technical Officer
• Coordinate with other organizations (including local and international organizations) and individuals in terms of potential collaboration with other NRC sectors in North West Region (Education, Emergency/Shelter/DRR and Camp Management).

Qualifications

Generic professional competencies for this position:
• Experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context
• Experience in information and counselling, Housing, Land and Property rights and other legal issues in Myanmar
• Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.

Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
• Legal background and basic knowledge of international standards is desirable
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant work experience
• Significant field experience in North West Region of Myanmar
• Computer and IT Skills
• Drafting Skills in English is an asset.

We offer

Contract Period: 4 months with 1 month probation (possibility of extension)
Salary and Benefits: 609,943 MMK per months with 46,500 MMK medical allowance monthly
Duty Station: Sittwe, Rakhine State with 70% Travel
