Purpose of the job:
The purpose of the Logistics officer position is day to day implementation of the Logistics responsibilities, keeps updated from the Market and keep Area office and support offices relevant department updated. Being in charge of the Logistics issues in Kunduz Office and between Area Office and Support offices. Use actions words such as ensure, implement or assist for the position relevant responsibilities.

Job description

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement
  • Perform according to the work and development plan
  • Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings
  • Management of support team

  • Provide ant corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management) (Logistics)
  • Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods(Logistics)
  • Implement and manage in all activities pertaining to Procurement services (Sourcing, Procurement, Delivery, Asset Management and Support implementation).
  • To plan for supplies of goods and services required by the NRC operation within Afghanistan including the preparation of reports.
  • Implement internal controls and procedures within the operation to ensure adherence to standards of the procurement function.
  • Supervise customs clearances of locally and internationally procured items and liaise with other organizations to obtain all necessary authorizations and clearances for import and export of these goods.
  • Draft and dispatch quotation requests and/or tenders
  • Manage NRC’s guesthouses in Kunduz ensuring that NRC’s assets are well maintained at all times.
  • Will be required to supervise and coordinate the work of lower level staff;
  • Performance Appraisals of Logistic Assistant and other subordinates on annually bases.
  • Arranging Vehicles for the Travel Authorization Request (TAR) of the programs
  • Carpool report every month
  • Rented vehicle monthly payment for Kunduz
  • Market assessment of fuel price twice in a month and report to concern logistic officer accordingly.
  • Performs other duties when required.

Qualifications

  • University Degree/Diploma in B-Com/ BBA/ Management and Economics-Required
  • 3 years of Experience from working as a Logistic Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Having knowledge of documentation, asset management, warehousing, fleet management and reporting

Education field

  • Education title: University Degree/Diploma in B-Com/ BBA/ Management and Economics-Required
