About VSO

VSO is the world's leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. Our high-impact approach brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action to change lives and make the world a fairer place.

Role overview

An exciting opportunity has become available to lead the inclusion strategy for the ICS Programme. As part of our ambition on ICS we aim to recruit and support UK volunteers representative of the diversity of the UK population and volunteers from the countries we work in that reflect national contexts. This will particularly require a proactive approach to ensuring our programmes support volunteers with fewer opportunities such as declared disabilities and financial hardship.

Skills, qualifications and experience

As the successful candidate, you will have strong experience developing and implementing ways of working which promote inclusion for a diverse range of people (ideally young adults) at a strategic level. You will be an innovative people person with strong project management skills.
You will have excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills and an awareness of the ICS programme, its values and principles.
