DRC is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of MEAL Officer in East Amman project. The successful candidate will fulfill MEAL responsibilities including, but not limited to: Post-Distribution Monitoring in beneficiary homes, assessment monitoring (Shadow visits), participatory monitoring activities, general satisfaction monitoring (exit interviews), and monitoring (pre/post testing and assessments) in order to ensure high quality of assistance and continual learning.

 

About the job

 

The individual will report directly to Base Manager. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

  • Conduct participatory monitoring activities with DRC beneficiaries to get information and feedback on the quality and relevance of assistance, both in Sanad community center and within the wider community in East Amman
  • Supprot in the data collection and data cleaning of the projects baseline, mid-line and end-line assessments carried out in East Amman area.
  • Support the development of data collection methodology and tools
  • Regularly undertake field monitoring visits to conduct household interviews, post-distribution monitoring, pre- and post- assessments, focus group discussions, shadow visits , and any required visits as planned with the MEAL Specialist
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry
  • Conduct monthly data analysis of collected data to feed into programme development
  • Ensure timely reporting on monitoring activities in line with work plans and project timeline
  • Provide regular verbal and written feedback on field observations and monitoring findings to the MEAL Specialist and relevant program staff
  • Capture and feed into to institutional learning by contributing best practices and lessons learned from ongoing M&E activities and/or program activities to ensure the good quality of the outcomes.
  • Identify and refer/report individuals with special needs, protection concerns, and any problems with DRC services to the MEAL Specialist and relevant program staff, as well as conducting phone call surveys in form of referral scorecards to monitor the quality of referral services provided
  • Build and maintain good working relations with staff from East Amman program
  • Other tasks as assigned by the MEAL Specialist

 

 

 

About you..

 

  • the candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience – preferably in social work, community development, non-governmental organizations, or civil society.

     

    Required / Desirable

    Essential attributes:

     

  • Essential qualifications: Bachelor Degree in industrial engineering, social sciences, information management or other relevant area

     

  • Preferred qualifications: Knowledge/experience with M&E specifically, information management or accountability. Skilled in all MS Office applications (particularly Excel). Basic knowledge at least of data analysis practices and data collection tools (particularly KoBo).

     

  • Fluency in Arabic and English required

We offer

Contract length: Until 31 Dec contract including three months as probation period, renewable based on both funding and performance.
