Outline UNICEF ECO website navigational structure projecting child issues and UNICEF ECO interventions aligning with the UNICEF digital transformation project. Collect, review, assess, edit existing material and generate required content for the UNICEF ECO website including dedicated webpages covering Children issues and youth engagement. Support online content management of Masrawy project “Saf7a Fil Share3” & other youth platforms managed by UNICEF Egypt. Regular updating and continuous monitoring of the ECO website & youth platforms. Liaise with youth lead initiatives & coordinate offline activities.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks (Please outline the key accountabilities for this position and underneath each accountability, the duties that describe how they are delivered.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

1. Regular updating and continuous monitoring of ECO website & other counterpart platforms managed by UNICEF Egypt (on daily basis)

2. Liaising with youth lead initiatives & coordinating field visits & activities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and DUTIES & TASKS 

Within the delegated authority and under the given organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned the primarily, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

  1. Regular updating and continuous monitoring of ECO website & other counterpart platforms managed by UNICEF Egypt (on daily basis)
  • Outline UNICEF ECO website navigational structure guided by ECO Communication strategy and UNICEF Global Public Advocacy and Communication strategy.
  • Collect, review, assess, edit existing material and generate required content for the UNICEF ECO website.
  • Identify frequency of updates and responsibilities for management of the website and content updates.
  • Continuous monitoring of the ECO website & other platforms managed by UNICEF.
  • Produce regular analytics reports and advice on measures to increase website traffic.
  • Timely response to queries, suggestions and comments from visitors on timely manner.

2.  Liaising with youth lead initiatives & coordinating field visits & activities

  • Coordinate with youth initiatives that would be of relevance to the scope of UNICEF supported counterpart platforms including "Saf7a fil Share3 platform".
  • Collect and prepare data and material from all relevant youth initiatives to be uploaded on Saf7a fil share3.
  • Coordinate offline activates with youth initiatives and liaise with UNICEF programmes and social media team on relevant activities.
  • Coordinate with photographers and multimedia production houses, as well as feature write for the audio and video documentation and coverage of field

Impact of Results:

The efficiency and effectiveness of support provided by the Communication Officer ensures that a strong Communication platform is provided to the respective sections, which in turn affects the timely and accurate completion of the services provided by advisors and specialists in the team.

  • Knowledge of social media environment, marketing/advertising, public relations
  • And analytic tools.

General knowledge of:

  • Knowledge and expertise in management, Communication strategy and networking with focus on working in digital media.
  • Computer systems, including internet navigation, office applications, Photoshop, and specifically, interactive digital media.
  • Good understanding of world affairs, current events and international development issues.
  • Good understanding of global human rights issues, specifically relating to children and women

Recruitment Qualifications

Education:  University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations or other relevant discipline (s).

Experience: One year practical professional work experience in creating digital content for various channels (including social media and/or websites) and handling different social media platforms.

-  Professional experience of content management systems and websites content management.

-  Professional experience in working with youth initiatives & entrepreneurship in Egypt.

-  Excellent knowledge of photo-journalism and video documentation.

-  Good communication and presentation skills.

-  Ability to deliver within strict deadlines.

Language Requirements:  Fluency in Arabic and English, both oral and written
