Driver_ GS2 TA Aden post#107727

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

Aden hub has expanded massively in the last two years due to the ongoing situation in the country; thus UNICEF operations response has been increasing to support and deliver to the Yemeni children and women. This requires to allocate additional human resource to respond to the change. The number of staff in Aden has increased up to 30 staff in additional to the driver who are only one driver for the time being. The transportation unit plays a core role to support the programmes in such situation. There is a gab and with current structure, the office has recruited two drivers from third party company to cover, but this only a temporary measure until the office recruit UNICEF drivers to handle UNICEF vehicles as per UNICEF transport policy. In additional to this, the absence of UNICEF driver who travelled abroad for long time and being in SLWP affect the daily work. Therefore, the office is asking to recruit at least two drivers to cover the need.
