Senior Associate, Human Resources

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior HR Associate ensures delivery and alignment of efficient and effective HR services in human resources operations i.e. talent acquisition and management, C&B, and performance management, within GGGI business goals and overall HR strategy. 

The incumbent of the position should have a sufficient relevant experience in international HR practices and employee relations management, preferably in an international organization. This position is the first point of contact for internal clients that is tasked with preparing and processing HR documentation and is required to pro-actively follow up and act upon its implementation The incumbent will communicate with the people managers and staff on a daily basis, express new ideas, and suggest acceptable solutions to the business units within HR framework, considering GGGI’s Organization culture and development. This role requires a sound knowledge of HR policies and procedures in order to resolve matters at the lowest level possible before needing to escalate issues to the Head of Human Resources. 

The incumbent will play a positive role in supporting GGGI to become a lead player in promoting green growth and a great place to work. 

The Senior HR Associate reports to the Head of Human Resources and collaborates effectively with the HR team members.

PURPOSE

Oversees and integrates related services in HR functions for e.g.  resourcing, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, HR information, diversity management etc.  into an effective service platform.

Lead on specific HR projects based on identified business need.

ENGAGEMENT

  •  Engage and advise managers and staff for implementation of HR processes and best practices
  •  Mentor, train and be point of contact for HR regional focal points and recruitment coordinators
  •  Engage with potential candidates on behalf of GGGI
  •  Participate and represent GGGI in job fairs or related activities when necessary
  •  Identify issues impacting the consistent delivery of HR services across a variety of factors and recommend remedial solutions
  •  Contribute in the development of broader HR Policies, organizational change and engagement.

 

DELIVERY

Deliverables are the consistent provision of quality and effective delivery of HR services across a range of functions (e.g. recruitment, learning and development, performance management, grievance management etc.) for the business units that is assigned to this role, which includes inter alia:

• Consult with line management and provide daily HR guidance to managers and staff

• Spearhead, track and coordinate talent acquisition processes for staff, interns and consultants by liaising with hiring units, and identifying resource needs , timeline, sourcing channels to ensure the best suited candidate is placed within the identified timeframe 

• Coordinate, complete recruitment cycle: screening, longlisting, questionnaire and evaluation criteria development, decision making facilitation, reference check, offer negotiations 

• Systemize onboarding and ensure staff induction and orientation programs for all new joiners in the business units supported, including providing transition support to new recruits

• Analyzing, evaluating, and providing solutions for individual cases, within the framework of defined rules, regulations, practices and/or precedents relating to all aspects of HR

• Researching and summarizing facts and precedents related to non-routine cases and based on this research recommending choices

 • In collaboration with HR associate report on recruitment status and metrics

• Contract management, including issue new contracts, renewals, and make relevant changes in ERP system

• Provide HR policy guidance on compensation and benefits, recruitment, and learning & development by utilizing in-depth knowledge of rules, regulations, practices and procedures of the Organization and the practical application of these to specific areas of HRM

• Be responsible for implementing the performance management system

• Implement other key talent management initiatives for the business unit such mentoring program

• Identify training needs for teams and individuals, support the implementation of other learning programs at GGGI

• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.

 

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or other relevant fields. Master’s degree would be considered as advantage.

• Experience: A least 5 years of relevant experience in human resources or related services in an organization with staff of widely diverse backgrounds including cultural backgrounds

• Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must.

FUNCTIONAL

• Experienced in implementing a performance management system preferably in an international context 

Fluency in MS Excel and other office suites; familiarity with Enterprise Resources Planning, particularly Agresso is a plus 

• Experience in using applicant tracking systems. Experience with Hireserve is an added advantage.

• High level of client orientation, with proven experience of such in the past

•  Self-starter, able to find solutions to complex issues without the need to escalate further

• Proven experience in utilizing best practice sourcing techniques and completing full cycle recruitment process

• Strong analytical skills and deductive reasoning
