About the job
The Reporting, Fundraising and Grant Management Trainer Consultant will develop a comprehensive training curriculum covering core grants management, fundraising concepts and skills that will be used to build the capacities of DRC and DRC’s partner organizations’ staff. This will encompass three key modules: donor reporting, grants management, and fundraising. The consultant will then deliver trainings on each of the modules directly to DRC partner staff and trainings of trainers to senior DRC staff over a total span of ten days.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
  • Conduct desk review of existing relevant training materials (including DRC resources) that can support a contextualized curriculum for DRC in Lebanon
  • Meet with DRC and partner staff to analyze existing capacities, gaps, priorities, and needs regarding reporting, grants management, fundraising, contributing to proposal development, etc.
  • Work with DRC’s Program Development and Grants Specialist, Partnerships  Specialist, and  field staff to develop a comprehensive training curriculum (in English) covering three key modules: donor reporting, grants management, and fundraising. Reporting will cover basic writing tips and strategies, how to structure and present information, how to analyze information and impact of programs, and how to produce complete donor reports that meet international donor standards. The grants management module should cover how to review grant agreements, understanding the project management cycle (PMC) and the role of grants within it, compliance with donor requirements, managing donor relations, grant tracking, and use of grant management tools. The fundraising module should cover how to research relevant opportunities, concept note and proposal development, basic fundraising strategy development, and funding gaps contingency planning.
  • Either directly translate materials to Arabic or work with a translator to ensure that materials are effectively translated to Arabic.
  • Ensure that the training curriculum is practical, creative, engaging, versatile and sufficiently contextualized to non-native English speakers and relative to the Lebanese context and stakeholder dynamics. The curriculum should be contextualized to the core sectors of intervention by DRC and its partners, including protection, livelihoods, shelter and basic assistance. The curriculum should consist of a diverse set of presentations, interactive exercises/activities, writing tips, training tools and links to external resources that will help develop and reinforce the skills of participants.
  • Ensure that the final product is designed to train key senior DRC staff to carry out future trainings to frontline staff (officers, assistants, etc.). In addition to a table of contents, the curriculum should be accompanied by a guide outlining each of the various components of the curriculum and how to utilize the various tools to support delivery of trainings to frontline staff.
  • Ensure that the curriculum is designed to comprehensively build the skills of participants around each module (reporting, fundraising and grants management) and ensure that multiple training sessions are designed, if necessary, to achieve this. Ensure that the curriculum can meet the needs of both frontline DRC staff and partner organizations.
  • Apply DRC’s training assessment system for each training session (pre-post tests- impact analysis-  training report- course evaluation form)
  • Collect feedback from staff attendees regarding training content developed and incorporate this feedback to produce a final version of the product.
  • Carry out reporting, fundraising and grant management trainings to DRC partner staff and train DRC senior staff and PD and Grants Specialist on training curriculum and how to carry out trainings to frontline staff using the materials developed
  • Report regularly to the Programme Development and Grants Specialist on the progress of work and collaborate with the grants department and relevant field staff to ensure satisfactory completion of all tasks.
  • Produce a final one to two-page report summarizing the work completed under the consultancy and the outcomes of the training curriculum/trainings delivered.
  • Work in line and in adherence to DRC’s code of conduct
  • The developed curriculum will be the property of DRC and cannot be shared with an external entity without a written approval from DRC Lebanon.
