Consultancy: Professional Graphic Designer (Sanitation and Hygiene Publication), WASH Section, PD - NYHQ, Requisition #516433

New York City (United States of America)

The purpose of this consultancy is to ensure that new UNICEF publications in sanitation and WASH in schools are high-quality and ready for dissemination through the provision of professional graphic design services.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

Background and Rationale

UNICEF helps people gain access to water, sanitation and hygiene services in communities, schools and health care facilities in over 100 countries around the world. In schools, all children benefit from improved water, sanitation, and hygiene, but evidence from around the world shows that girls suffer disproportionately when lacking these services. To ensure that school WASH facilities are girl-friendly, UNICEF is increasingly supporting menstrual hygiene management programmes. UNICEF has developed new guidance documents – one for programme, and one for procurement – on menstrual hygiene programmes, and is now seeking a designer for the layout of the guidance documents.

The two guidance documents are designed for UNICEF staff and their partners to design or strengthen their programmes. As such it is important that the design produced be visually appealing and able to creatively help readers find and use the respective tools. UNICEF will provide the designer with high resolution pictures for the layout as needed.
