The KIA and Save the Children Partnership:
 
KIA is a South Korean international Automobile manufacturing company is currently building a production facility in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh. The expected annual production capacity is 300,000 units. This is Kia Motor's first manufacturing facility in India and the fifth largest global automotive market with an expected investment to the tune of $1.1 billion to develop operations in India.
KIA Motors, Korea/India and Save the Children is aiming to implement an integrated development project in Ananthapur and Penukonda in collaboration with district and state administration.   The project intends to reach out to youth and community in Ananthapur District, so as to build their technical and professional skills that would provide employable opportunities within the local industry, as well as to facilitate multi-thematic initiatives for the integrated development of the local community, in close collaboration with Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITI), Government Polytechnic, Government schools, Anganwadi Centers and village & mandal level structures, as well as district and state departments.
 
 KIA Motors will create a Centre of Excellence at Government Polytechnic to fine tune the skills of the Government Polytechnic & Government ITI students to make their skills sets to suits the employment needs of KIA Motors in Ananthapur. Besides to his designed various community development programmes in collaboration in order to influence and inspire corporates to contributes its presence in new and meaningful ways beyond their financial investments and deliver transformational change for the children of India. 
  • Create an potential employment opportunities to the local youth and employment seekers
  • Strengthening the existing Technical Institutions to make tailor made curriculum to support student to become technically sound to access more employment opportunities.
  • To undertake integrated development activities to empower communities on education, health & hygiene, environment and promoting income generation activities through providing entrepreneurship development programs.
  • To bring various key stakeholders including district, block and village level administration to a common platform for effective implementation of the project.
 
Job Purpose:
To drive and maintenance of the office Vehicle. Smooth and safe running of vehicle. He will be the key person for reaching the vehicle on time and taking necessary steps for safety of passengers, including visitors.

He will be responsible for driving and maintenance of Mobile Van with smooth condition by adhering to all registration, insurance and other Road and Transport Authorities norms and conditions. The Driver will report to the Project Coordinator.
  • Follow the route map for the vehicle.
  • Maintenance of log book for the visits
  • Timely servicing and following renewal of vehicle insurance/other legal documents as per the norms
  • Ensure safe driving and safety of the vehicle.
  • Ensure safe and smooth functioning of field visits, donor visits etc.
Process:
  • Submission of log book details and trip reports for the records.
  • Support the field visits of Donor or teams from SPO and NSO
  • Ensure timely maintenance, fuel and submission of bills related to the vehicle.
  • Ensure compliance with SC BR’s policies and practices, including the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Others:
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as and when assigned in the best interests of the children
  • Contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Promote the work of Save the Children – communicating, both internally and externally, in an accurate, sensitive and motivating fashion
  • Ensure that all activities comply with applicable law at all times
  • Adhering to financial norms and procedures of Save the Children

Experience
  • 5 years of experience in driving
  • Having valid Commercial Driving licence
  • Good verbal, written and communication skills, fluency in local language
  • Self-motivated  & ability to work in a team
Have previous experience of driving in NGOs, Government or CSR Projects.
 
Qualifications
 
  • SSC Qualification or Intermediate, with Permanent Valid Commercial Licence.
  • Interest in working with children
 
Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience in Driving of Four-Wheelers
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in regional language
