WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN ENTREPRENEURIAL PROGRAM MANAGER PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUTH AND CHANGEMAKING

Are you a proactive, dynamic and entrepreneurial top talent ready to lead Ashoka’s Youth program in the Nordic region?

About us

Ashoka is a global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs – men and women with systems changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems.

Over the last 35 years, Ashoka not only coined the term social entrepreneur- but also pioneered the field of social entrepreneurship globally. We searched and helped over 3500 men and women launch their system- changing ideas to solve problems. We also helped the world see why social entrepreneurship was a more powerful way to drive change. Investors invested in them, journalists wrote about them, universities taught courses and incubators and accelerators supported them. In many countries governments even created policies to support social entrepreneurs.

However, we recognize this is not enough. The rate of change is accelerating and our societal problems are growing faster than our solutions. In such an environment it is not enough for a few to lead and others to follow; Everyone must be a changemaker. Ashoka envisions a world where everyone is a changemaker. A changemaker is someone equipped and motivated to make a positive difference in their own lives and beyond. When everyone acts as changemakers we can respond quickly and effectively to social challenges. To reach the vision of Everyone a Changemaker in the Nordics, Ashoka supports leading social entrepreneurs (so called Ashoka Fellows), Young Changemakers and leaders in education.

Changemaking skills, i.e. empathy, teamwork, creative problem-solving and leadership become essential to equip each of us to respond to changes around us. And we have learned that this can only happen only if we start practice these skills at a young age.

About the role

As Ashoka Nordic’s Young Changemaker Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing our efforts for young people in the Nordic region together with local and regional partners (our main partner for this initiative is Accenture). You will also be part of Ashoka’s Global Children and Youth team.

Within the next five years Ashoka’s goal in the Nordics is to influence one million youth (16-25 years) to identify themselves as Changemakers in the region. We have two main strategies to reach this goal:

  1. We train & influence ambassadors through Changemaker Camps/Leadership program (focused reach)
  2. We build a network of young Changemakers and inspire more youth through the digital platform Changemakers’ Yard (broad reach). The platform includes interactive tools, storytelling and other relevant resources for young social entrepreneurs.

We currently arrange annual Changemaking Camps in Sweden and Norway, while the digital platform is active in Sweden so far. Our ambition is to make it available in English and, besides developing camps in Sweden and Norway further, pilot it in at least one other country over the next 1-2 years.

Moreover we have 8 active Ashoka’s Changemaker Schools initiative in the Nordic region. These schools are pioneers and role models for changemaking, and close allies in our work.
