Under the overall review of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) et the direct supervision of the Chief of the Functional Application Management Unit, the Systems Development Analyst will play a key role in the ERP/SAP development, continuous improvement, upgrade, technical testing, ongoing support, and bug fixing of various SAP modules such as Human Capital Management (HCM) modules (PA, OM and NPO-Payroll), Project System (PS), Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM), Travel Management (TV) and Business Warehouse (BW/BI), and ensuring the integration between SAP and the various business layer corporate applications, interfaces and databases.

 

Definition and implementation of business solutions\:

  • Take part in reviewing business needs and defining systems solutions, or improving existing systems, in close interaction with the SAP functional team, using standard methodologies.  Participate in defining project plans and managing the project life cycle, being a part of the project team as necessary and ensuring timely production of stage deliverables.
  • Participate in the analysis, definition and implementation of technical solutions\: design application (database, processes, user interface, external interfaces); develop application software as required, or improve existing application software to meet changes in functional and technical specifications, architectures and performance needs; review and evaluate commercial packages; develop, parameterise and customise application or package modules; define interfaces with external applications; parameterise software; conduct integration testing and participate in acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate, monitor and act as the main technical quality assurance of the development provided by external resources. Plan and ensure regular revision of existing developments targeting their enhancement/improvement and standardization.
  • Be responsible for the technical activities linked to ERP upgrades, patches and migration.
  • Schedule technical interventions to ensure allignment with product releases. Set working priorities and update the change log accordingly.
  • Be responsible for the exploitation (system operations and interfaces between IT systems\: SAP and non-SAP systems). Ensure the integration between SAP and the various business layer corporate applications, interfaces and databases.
  • Provide complete technical documentation of the ERP and interfaced solutions (applications, SaaS, Databases). Assist senior staff in drafting ERP related technical assessments and recommendations. Set working priorities and update the change log accordingly.

Co-ordination\:

  • Co-ordinate the technical support and evolution of existing SAP applications, with first level support and other team members.
  • Participate in the definition of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation, upgrade and technology strategies.
  • Provide support to external applications interacting with SAP and other SaaS solutions.
  • Co-ordinate the incident management with SAP and apply OSS notes.

EDUCATION

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields. A combination of relevant professional qualifications/certifications and experience (minimum 4 years) in the field of IT development may be taken into consideration in lieu of advanced degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum  three  years of work experience in analysing business needs and implementing SAP solutions. Experience should include the definition of contingency plans, the assessment of critical incidents both identifying workaround and long term solutions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing SAP Solutions at Enterprise level; understanding and defining control, usability, supportability, and security aspects of SAP solutions; implementing business process change using SAP.
  • Experience of SAP NPO solution.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Proven ability to interact with information technology and ERP specialists both internal and external to acquire knowledge and skills, and find solutions to specific problems.
  • Ability to articulate complex solutions and concepts to clients and team members
  • Ability to generate recommendations based on strong analytical skills and business knowledge
  • Knowledge and proven experience in ABAP OO, ABAP Webdynpro, FPM, OData Service, SAP WorkFlow and/or Fiori.
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP application architecture and systems design.

LANGUAGES

  • Excellent/very good knowledge of English or French, and fair knowledge of the other working language.
