Lebanon Country Office is seeking to recruit a Donor Relations Specialist to support to the advocacy and external relations of the office of the Representative and the UNICEF country program(me).

Under the supervision of the Representative, you will support the advocacy and external relations of the Office of the Representative by ensuring that key policy and advocacy issues are available through regular briefings, information, data and analysis on UNICEF’s programmes in Lebanon and the emergency response. The position engages in the organization of high level and donor visits as well as monitoring and enforcing donor visibility.

How can you make a difference?

Donor relations management

Under the overall supervision of the Representative, and in coordination with the Deputy Representative, Planning & Monitoring and Communication:

  • You will manage and maintain established programme funding relationships with key donor Governments, UN agencies, and Inter-Governmental institutions.  This includes day-to-day direct contacts with donor counterparts, UNICEF programme sections and field offices.
  • You will organize (and if necessary participate in) donor missions and meetings.
  • You will provide a consistently high level of responsiveness and service to key donors. Help senior management to maintain a close dialogue with and provide accurate information to donors by organizing regular briefings, bilateral meetings and donor missions. Prepare reports as appropriate.

Contribution to fundraising strategy and work plans with partners

  • You will contribute towards the preparation and development of Lebanon fundraising strategy and work plans with donor Governments, UN agencies, and Inter-Governmental institutions:
  • you will gather research on target countries to assess their fundraising potential and track-record.
  • In cooperation with SPPME and Communication, you will actively pursue innovative avenues of cooperation for funding opportunities by public and private donors.

Preparation of key and procedural documents

  • For the Office of the Representative including the Deputy-Representative, you will draft or coordinate the drafting of situation reports, briefing notes, background material, talking points, fact sheets, speeches for all donor related meetings, travel, conferences, fundraising etc.
  • You will provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, preparing correspondences and drafting meeting minutes. Act as Secretary of the Country Management Team.

Inquiries management

  • You will coordinate the office response to a wide variety of general and substantive queries for information from governmental and non-governmental partners. You will then, screen requests, respond if possible or refer to a wide range of possible sources (inside and outside the Country Office).

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced degree in public affairs, social sciences, international relations, business administration or other related discipline.
  • Five years of relevant work experience in a professional capacity in external relations, public affairs, general office administration or international development cooperation, preferably within the UN or similar organization, government or NGO.
  • Proficiency in English, French and Arabic are required, French is an asset.
