UNICEF Lebanon is seeking a local consultant to provide Spanish language courses for UNICEF Lebanon Country Office staff.

UNICEF Lebanon is seeking a local consultant to  provide local language courses for interested staff members.

Upon completion of training, according to the respective levels, Staff Member will:

  • Improve their reading and listening skills
  • Basic Conversational Skills
  • Develop writing skills

HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

You will conduct group language classes held in the premises of UNICEF Beirut (Achrafieh) at regular agreed hours.

Participants Levels will be evaluated before the start of the classes and training will be organized accordingly and trainees will be grouped by level. Based on an initial needs assessments, interested staff provided self assessment as follows:

  • Beginners at Level 1
  • Intermediate at Level 2 

At the end of the quarter, the consultant will conduct a final evaluation of participants whose results will be sent to UNICEF.

The assignment is designed to provide courses for around 30/35 Members and the duration is of 15 weeks, as follow:

  • Week 1: Assessment of the language level of staff who will attend the course.
  • Week 2: Custom design of the course.
  • Week 3 to 14: Two Language sessions per week.
  • Week 15: Final evaluation and reporting of participants and course.

The contract will begin asap for 15 weeks duration

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Week 1: Assessment report of participants’ Spanish language level
  • Week 2: Course schedule and agenda
  • Week 15: Final evaluation of participants’ language level.

TO QUALIFY AS A CHAMPION, YOU WILL NEED:

  • A relevant advanced university degree
  • 3 years of Spanish language teaching experience.
  • A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • The selected candidate must also have the appropriate equipment and materials to ensure the quality of learning.

Classrooms and learning materials (copier, table and markers) will be provided by UNICEF. Prospective audio-visual materials are the responsibility of the provider.
