The position:

The Progamme Specialist, Midwifery Education is located in Bangladesh Country Office (CO) and reports to the International Midwifery Specialist.

Job Purpose:

The Progamme Specialist, Midwifery Education ensures the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of midwifery education and regulation and provides technical assistance in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), ensuring the effective management of UNFPA’s support in establishing midwifery profession in Bangladesh with special focus on midwifery education.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

Advanced degree in health with a background in medicine, nursing or midwifery

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Five years professional experience in the field of midwifery, with experience in programme/ project management.

• Prior clinical experience in a teaching setting would be an advantage.

• Experience working in midwifery education is an advantage.

• Experience working in advancing midwifery education or practice in developing countries particularly in the region would be desirable.

• Proficiency in current office software applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other presentation software).

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
