STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
Experience: Five or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience in SQL Server.
- Experience working with complex SQL and its variations (such as TSQL, PL/SQL).
- Ability to write complex ETL procedures using SQL.
- Expertise with integration technologies and processes, enterprise data warehouse use implementations and reporting tools, integrating multiple legacy and strategic systems.
- Knowledge of testing tools and techniques and executing test scripts to test performance of ETL procedures.
- Good knowledge in web development using ASP. Net WVC or PHP is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in multi-dimensional and data mining techniques such as EDW, ODS, DM, ROLAP and MOLAP.
- Experience in big data analysis and visualization.
- Experience in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau would be an advantage.
- Good experience in Microsoft excel.
Language: General Service (Headquarters): Fluency (level C) in English language. Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official language may be required depending on the location of the post or area of responsibility.
General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureaux (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ). Job holders performing front office management functions typically report to the Division Director or Country Directors. In cases where these positions support a specific business stream, the reporting line may be to the Head of Unit or Chief.
At this level job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. They have responsibility for undertaking specialised business support work, such as organisation and coordination of work. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources, and coach and/or coordinate a team of support staff.
To coordinate and control a full range of business support services for a specific professional area of work, to ensure that services are delivered effectively.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
· Create, modify and test various T-SQL procedures, SQL queries and SSIS packages to source and manipulate the data necessary to meet business requirements.
· Reconcile data inconsistencies and ensure data integrity. Perform data mining, data cleansing, data manipulation, and data indexing.
· Support table indexing and query strategies, database objects maintenance and performance issues.
· Collect and perform analysis of data to contribute to quality business information management.
· Collect information for inclusion in reports, documents and correspondence, to support the effective work in the unit.
· Respond to standard queries and provide timely and accurate guidance.
· Support the unit in managing the new regulatory projects from planning, impact analysis, business requirements documentation, training and solution design to track and report on the population.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
