Project Manager (Digital Workplace and Document Management System), Temporary Appointment, P-4, ICTD New York (#108225)

Under the general guidance of the ECM Senior Project Manager, the Digital Workplace and Document Management System Project Manager will be responsible for leading the technical development resourcing and work planning for the digital workplace and document management system.

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is a formalized means of organizing and storing an organization's documents, and other content, that relate to the organization's processes. Using the latest digital technologies, the ECM project aims to bring UNICEF into a modern and sustainable work environment through four key project streams; implementing the digital workplace in offices, releasing the document management system, managing and digitizing UNICEF’s Archives, and improve the organization’s information governance framework. 

How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the ECM Senior Project Manager, the Digital Workplace and Document Management System Project Manager will be responsible for leading the technical development resourcing and work planning for the digital workplace and document management system.

This Temporary Appointment will be for a period of 364 days. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the business analysis and alignment for the ECM project products and services –with particular focus on the digital workplace and document management system dimensions.
  • In close consultation with project stakeholders and governance mechanisms, gather and synthesize user needs for the digital workplace and document management system; refine the roll-out and enhancement road map.
  • Manage the releases for the ECM Project:
    • Release planning: scoping, approach, definition of work streams and sub-streams, timing of activities and resourcing.
    • Product design: identify and recruit design group members; plan and implement design workshops.
    • Product implementation: liaise with partners in ICTD (or other, depending on the work stream); coordinate support inputs for centralized/decentralized technical support; lead the ECM technical resources.
    • Product delivery mechanisms: develop enhancement mechanisms and resolution processes as well as access mechanisms.
  • In close collaboration with the ECM engagement team, support change management activities, i.e. release-related stakeholder engagement, training, communication and resistance management.
  • Provides leadership related to ECM project deliverables and priorities, in particular for the Office of the Executive Director and the Office of the Secretary of the Executive Board.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced University degree in information management, knowledge management, international development, international relations or related fields. A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with ten (10) years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large-scale content management project ideally in an international environment. A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: information management, project management, and/or business analysis and transformation Understanding of international development issues and previous experience with a multilateral or UN organization is a strong asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
