Organizational Setting
 
The main aim of the FAO country office, which is headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist government to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
 
Reporting Lines
 
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Sub-regional Coordinator for Central Asia and FAO Representative in Turkey, direct supervision of the Programme Officer, technical guidance of the Lead Technical Officer and in collaboration with FAO Turkey team, the Training Specialist/Coordinator will be responsible for the listed tasks.
 
Technical Focus\:
 
Resource person of Training and ToTs, alignment of project actions with work plan, supervision and monitoring and coordination of training programme.
 
Tasks and responsibilities
 
  • Provide leadership to the development of adult training modules targeting SuTPs and host community members;
  • Develop strategies for joint training events for the target populations to be completed within a timeframe;
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and MoAF Provincial Focal Points and implementing partners for training arrangements;
  • Support the Team in the preparation of gender mainstreamed training programmes and curricula related to agricultural technical thematic areas identified as in highest demand for the particular province;
  • Support facilitation skills of project facilitators dealing with the training on technical thematic areas to ensure the delivery of high quality training programmes; 
  • Support organization of the training programmes and technical review meetings for evaluating the training programmes;
  • Provide technical inputs for the preparation of training and information material (e.g. brochures, leaflets, booklets, and CDs);
  • Support the training capacity development activities for the various stakeholders envisaged in the project activities;
  • Participate in consultation meetings with the Team, relevant government institutions and local stakeholders;
  • Organize and participate at the Training of Trainers Event to ensure the qualification of trainers and implementing partners for the successful implementation of the training programmes;
  • Review and analyse the existing training programmes of Ministry of National Education (MoNE), universities and other relevant institutions in Turkey;
  • Advocate and encourage the use, where possible, of FAO training materials approached and booklets related to project technical thematic areas;
  • Make proposals for institutional arrangements and implementation modalities of the vocational training programmes;
  • Monitor the training programme implementation details in accordance with the project objectives;
  • Conduct a mid-term assessment of the Vocational Training Programme and propose corrective measures, as needed, to meet the achievement of planned outputs;
  • Ensure that training provider institutions foresee, recognize, and address any issues in delivery;
  • Prepare an evaluation report after the conclusion of the training sessions;
Perform other related tasks and duty travels as required.
 
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
 
 
Minimum Requirements   
  • Advanced university degree in agriculture, development studies, business administration or public administration, social science, political science or a related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience in organizing and implementing training programme as well as resource person of training sessions
  • Working knowledge of English and fluency in Turkish,
