Organizational Setting The main aim of the FAO country office, which is headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist government to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner. Reporting Lines Under the overall supervision of the FAO Sub-regional Coordinator for Central Asia and FAO Representative in Turkey, direct supervision of the Programme Officer, technical guidance of the Lead Technical Officer, and in close collaboration with FAO Turkey team; the National Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks\: Technical Focus Project cycle management, donor compliance, alignment of project actions to PCM guidelines, field programme development, implementation and quality assurance, and supervision and guidance of FAO operational work. Tasks and responsibilities - Participate in the selection of service providers for the implementation and delivery of vocational trainings in different project areas;
- Coordinate the implementation of all project activities in the field, mainly the selection of project beneficiaries, finalization of project work plans, and coordination with relevant government counterparts and private sector for the implementation of different project activities, training and job fairs, and organization of different meetings with government counterparts and other relevant stakeholders;
- Work closely with the focal points of the selected Service Providers in order to ensure that project activities are timely prepared, implemented and reported to FAO;
- Prepare and submit monthly progress report to the Donor;
- Work closely with FETUR team and the relevant technical officers for the monitoring of project activities in the field, and reporting;
- Work closely with the FAO Communication Officer for the preparation of project leaflets, brochures, infographics, case studies and other visibility and communication materials, and establish good contacts with national and local media (print and visual) for the dissemination of FAO works and good practices for wider community;
- Coordinate field missions and visits of the team as well as representatives from the government counterparts, donors, FAO and other UN agencies;
- Liaise with local government institutions overseeing implementation of labour regulations pertaining to Syrian refugees, especially MFLSS. ISKUR, DGMM, AFAD, etc.;
- Participate in relevant joint needs assessment together with government counterparts, service providers, UN agencies and other national and international NGO partners;
- Participate in the Food Security and Agriculture Sector and other relevant work group meetings (e.g., Cash-based Interventions, Livelihoods) representing FAO;
- Undertake necessary discussion and follow up with private sector representatives to secure employment opportunities of the project beneficiaries at provincial and national level as necessary, and
Perform other related tasks as required. CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING Minimum Requirements - Advanced university degree in agriculture, business administration or public administration, social science, political science or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in project management field
