PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Under the authority of WHO Representative in Seychelles, the consultant will carry out multiple assignment to meet the overall specific objectives of the project Monitoring Tobacco Control complianceDESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
I. Project Management\:
Oversee the day to day implementation of the project in close collaboration with the Country Office and PND BI compliance team, in particular\:
-liaise and coordinate with the implementing agency (MOH) and WHO for the preparation of the conventional and crowdsourcing surveys
- ensure that all communication materials for the crowdsourcing survey are in line with the communications strategy provided by WHO
- Support the logistical and administrative preparation of the pilot survey
-provide logistical support before and during the field visit of HQ team and ensure that all relevant parties are on board
- provide regular updates to the HQ project team on the progress and challenges on the preparation for the survey
II\: Expanded Expert Survey
Perform the random selection of geographical areas in the country following the method described in the manual and using the tool developed by WHO HQ.
1. Identify local experts in the selected geographical areas of the pilot country that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the survey.
2. Facilitate the administration of the survey questionnaire to the identified experts which includes, but not limited to, the following\:
a. Send invitations to the identified experts to participate in the survey;
b. Obtain confirmations of at least 2-3 experts per geographical area;
c. Send the questionnaires and guide to the experts who confirmed their participation;
d. Follow up the response of the experts to the questionnaire;
e. Respond to queries or clarifications sent by experts; and
f. Ensure a complete and accurate assessment of the experts.
3. Perform other tasks as needed in the administration of the survey.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential\: University degree with knowledge in public health, medicine, or related fields; ;
Desirable\:
- knowledge of tobacco control would be very useful but is not essential,
Experience
Essential\: At least two years of relevant professional experience carrying out corresponding duties of project management and implementationDesirable\:
Use of language skills
Essential\:- excellent working level of English language in both writing and speaking
Desirable\:
Skills - strong managerial, oral and written communication and team building skills;
. substantial experience in leading teams of national and international experts
Specific skills required\: REMUNERATION\: USD 2500 per month (for full-time work; part-time negotiable)
