Established in 2012 NRC Jordan’s long-term outlook addresses the problems affecting life as a refugee. We work to build the resilience of Syrians, and to relieve the impact on the Jordanian communities that host them.  Syrian refugees in Jordan are struggling. As they contend with difficult living conditions across the country, the obstacles are complex. They struggle to remain registered as refugees, to provide for their families, and to access essential services – including education for their children. The Jordanian communities that host them, meanwhile, feel the impact of hosting high numbers of refugees – with each year that passes, local infrastructure becomes more strained.

Youth Officer - Information Management

Role Specific Information

NRC enables youth to strengthen their personal, social and economic resilience by participating in a structured educational programme that offers pathways towards social engagement, livelihoods, and further education. The programme supports youth to transition from acquiring skills, to applying skills in professional or community contexts, to accessing employment or volunteering opportunities. The Host Community Youth Programme operates in northern Jordan, primarily supporting communities in Irbid and Mafraq. NRC seeks an Officer to oversee the delivery and monitoring of accredited training opportunities to targeted youth and adults in Host communities.
 
The Database and Reporting Officer is responsible for managing data for implementation and M&E in the NRC Youth Programme in Host Community areas. Responsibilities include: direct oversight of data entry, data collection and analysis, develop and implement M&E systems, and produce regular reports.

Generic responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  •  Implement delegated Core Competency project portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management. 
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Carry out data collection as required. Ensure that data is collected and recorded ethically and within the remits of NRC policy on confidentiality and consent while ensuring standardization of data collection tools.
  • Responsible for the allocation of tasks, supervision and support to data entry volunteers on a daily basis.
  • Monitors the progress of activities of assigned to daily data entry volunteers and ensures they are implemented according to plan and to quality standards.
  • Provides CC technical support to beneficiaries. Contribute to capacity building manual for volunteers and local partners’ staff and liaise with the programme focal points to conduct these sessions across locations and when required.
  • Responsible for registration, student exam results and attendance for both students and teachers.
  • Create systems for producing regular reports/fact sheets reflecting the data entered in databases, and produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly management supporting reports and analysis as required Train other team members on project specific M&E tools and skills if necessary.
  • Provide support and act as a focal point for different types of assessments in coordination with M&E department.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate holds a Vocational/Tawjihi degree or equivalent. Must have a minimum of Three years of experience in Youth preferably within a humanitarian context. We are looking for someone with Data entry, Information Management, Monitoring and Evaluation background, also has the experience in building capacity of the staff.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with good communication and interpersonal skills, along with a managerial and leadership skills, have good attention to details, good planning and reporting skills. in this position, you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in the world's biggest displacement crisis.

Additional Information:

Contract period: Through to 30 September 2019 (Renewal based on funding and performance)

Salary/benefits: 1024JOD (subject to social security and Income tax)

Duty station: Irbid
