The Position:

The Programme Analyst, Maternal Health is located in Bangladesh Country Offices (CO) and reports to the Chief of Health.

Job Purpose:

The Programme Analyst, Maternal Health substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of population and development, reproductive health and gender. S/he analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst, Maternal Health guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation. S/he ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

Advanced degree in public health and/or other related social science field.

Knowledge and Experience: 

Two years professional experience in the field of development and population activities, preferably in programme/project management. 

At least one year prior experience working in the area of non-communicable diseases, particularly cervical cancer prevention and management is a must.

Experience in compiling and analysing programme data to feed into reports in highly desirable.

Prior experience in conducting research in non-communicable diseases independently would be an asset.

Experience working in the UN and having a good understanding of the country programme document and country programme action plan monitoring would be an advantage.

Ability to present to local and international audience on programme achievements and challenges an advantage.

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
