OBJECTIVE OF THE OFFICE/DEPARTMENT

This is a requisition for employment at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO)

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides leadership and direction in the deployment of information and communication technologies and systems to support the Pan American Health Organization, Regional Office of the Americas of the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in carrying out its mandate.  Furthermore, ITS establishes and maintains strategies, policies, standards and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient provision of information and communication services in a geographically dispersed environment.


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under the general supervision of the Director, Information Technology Services (ITS), and the direct supervision of the Senior Advisor, Applications Development and Support (ITS/AT), the incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, the following assigned duties\:

 
  1. Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of databases and related tools for ITS; 
  2. Provide support in the development of Information System applications;
  3. Assist in the coordination of the development, update, and maintenance of the ITS web and SharePoint site and the input of material from the ITS Teams.  Assist authors and other ITS staff on the design, reformatting, production, and publication of material for electronic dissemination and ensure that material and procedures meet the Organization’s requirement and standards;
  4. Liaise with focal points and all system administrators in country offices and centers to ensure coordination and continued operation of intranet portals and collaboration services through the Organization;
  5. Contribute to the development, maintenance and support of the Organization’s PASB Management Information System (PMIS);
  6. Assist users and technical support providers (IT Service Desk) in identifying sources of problems and in developing temporary and long-term solutions to those problems;
  7. Provide support to Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services and Tableau as needed;
  8. Perform other duties, as assigned.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education\:
Certification of completion of high school.

  • Ability to research, analyze and organize information in order to prepare charts, graphics, reports, etc.
Languages\:
Very good knowledge of English and Spanish.
IT Skills\:

Demonstrated ability to effectively use a computer and utilize software programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  Other IT skills and knowledge of other software programs such as Office 365, Visio, Microsoft SharePoint, Project and Microsoft Reporting Services; knowledge of Tableau (or similar products).
