CBM is an international Christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world. We are looking to recruit a:
            “Senior Disability Inclusion Humanitarian Officer (m/f)”
Main objective of the role:
Alligned with CBM´s Federation Strategy and Operating Model, the position holder coordinates the organisation´s regional humanitarian response for emergencies and disaster prepardness while supporting the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning of CBM´s emergency responses in conjuction with Country Teams and Member Associations. She/he will take a proactive role in advising countries in the development of emergency response plans, as well as promote the delivery of CBM´s International Inclusive Humanitarian Strategy at Country, Regional, and Global levels.
We are looking for someone who will...
  • Support the finalisation of CBM´s International Humanitarian Strategy and its roll out in key priority countries
  • Engage in Country Strategic planning processes that translate in realistic humanitarian action in coordination with Country Offices and Member Associations
  • Lead the development of post emergency programme strategy and subsequent recovery projects in allocated countries
  • Ensure robust MEAL frameworks are built in every crisis while promoting the use of Real Time Evaluations for sustainable development
  • Monitor the utilisation of funds as per the agreed budget plans and initiate needed revisions
  • Support the development of clear terms of reference for project financial audits and assure its implementation by project partners
  • Coach Country Offices on disability inclusion in humanitarian action
  • Engage in the design and development of specific inclusive humanitarian action training programmes both at global and country level directed to international and national partners as well as CBM country offices
  • Identify needs for advisory visits to allocated countries in order to support partners in project implementation in the identified technical areas
  • Work closely with Health, Safety & Security team in establishing risk monitoring and set-up of appropriate measures and applicable procedures

We are looking for someone who has...
  • First degree in social sciences, development/humanitarian studies or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management and strategic oversight with focus on emergency response
  • Proven experience coordinating humanitarian programmes with International partners (INGOs, UN Agencies…) and Donors
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering humanitarian assistance through national partners
  • Experience in both conflict and natural disaster situations
  • Excellent understanding of Disability Inclusive Development and related legal and programmes frameworks and standards
  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of key humanitarian standards (i.e. CHS, SPHERE)
  • Experience in areas of Inclusive Health, Cash Programming, Protection and Humanitarian advocacy would be advantageous
  • Illustrated project experience on mainstreaming issues such as protection, gender and/or age
  • Profound project proposal development skills for institutional donors
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Professional proficiency in English. French and/or Spanish would be advantageous
