  1. Role and responsibilities

    The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the logistics team in the Beirut Office. He/She will be responsible to ensure compliance with NRC’s policies and procedures and donors’ rules and regulations in relation to Warehousing, Fleet Management, and Asset Management.

    1. Generic Responsibilities:

    1. Provide technical advice and support to implement NRC’s logistical systems and procedures at NRC field office level.
    2. Provide follow-up and controls to ensure adherence from all NRC offices to the NRC Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements.
    3. Ensure anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in warehousing, vehicle management, asset management).
    4. Prepare and implement in coordination with the Logistics Manager a capacity-building plan for training and development of the logistics teams.
    5. Follow up on the Warehousing, Fleet Management, and Asset Management processes and plans across NRC Lebanon.
    6. Prepare and submit periodic reports and plans as required.
    7. Ensure proper filing of all logistics documents.
    8. Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and report any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.

      2. Specific responsibilities

  • Ensure that logistics procedures are properly developed, updated and disseminated at field office level.
  • Lead the Assets’ Management process and ensure proper disposal
  • Manage car rental and fuel contracts processes.
  • Manage vehicle allocation system in Beirut and ensure rational fleet utilization in field offices by performing periodical fleet utilization assessment
  • Conduct physical check controls of warehouse stock and assets as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Support Managers/Coordinators in the fields on issues related to logistics teams’ performance management, new recruitments and structures.
  • Coordinate with the Support Managers/Coordinators to ensure proper warehouse management and yearly stock count/check for the warehouses in the fields.
  • Provide guidance and support to the field offices in logistics related matters.
  • Implement any other logistics related task as requested by the line manager.

    3. Critical interfaces

    By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

  • Coordinate closely with the Logistics Manager to identify gaps and areas for technical support within the logistics team.
  • Coordinate closely with the Support Managers and field Logistics teams to identify gaps and areas for technical support.
  • Work closely with HR and the other support functions to ensure there is a systematic and coherent approach to capacity building of staff across all field offices.

1. Professional competencies

  • Bachelor degree in business, supply chain, or any relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Logistics, procurement and contracts management; preferably within a humanitarian context;
  • Experience in supply chain operations; and key institutional donor’s rules and regulations;
  • Experience in fleet, warehouse and assets management.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English, written and verbal
