DESCRIPTION

Leadership & Management

Lead the organization in a manner consistent with our mission, “To create a world where every child feels safe, loved and celebrated " ∙ Regular engagement and communication with Board of Directors, involving them strategically to actualize the organization’s mission ∙ Effectively motivate, manage, coach, and develop staff in a manner consistent with Challenge Day’s values ∙ Hire and retain staff as needed, in line with organization’s strategy plan ∙ Develop a well-integrated volunteer workforce to assist and support CD's goals

Strategic Planning & Growth

Work with Staff and the board to develop a comprehensive strategy to expand the number of days delivered while also continually increasing the potency of each day. ∙ Work with staff and the board to develop CD founders and leaders as speakers at conferences and other relevant media events with the end goal to spread CD brand recognition and to positively impact public conversations that directly affect our mission. ∙ Refresh organization’s position in the market to assure the highest levels of relevance, with outreach efforts to support this position ∙ Strategically engage customers, old and new, to develop trusted partnership over time – backed up by scalable customer management systems ∙ Ensure effective systems to track organizational success, regularly evaluate programs, and assure status is communicated to the Board, funders, and other stakeholders

Financial Performance & Fundraising

Prudently manage the fiscal budget and operations to ensure optimal resource utilization and maintain a positive financial position ∙ Work with board to Support and expand fundraising activities ∙ Work with Board to develop short and long term strategic plans for financial sustainability.

Communications & Ways of Being

Learn, model, and practice open, direct, honest and compassionate communication, including but not limited to upwards and downwards feedback . ∙ Embody a commitment to a world where every person feels safe, loved and celebrated ∙ Work with staff and the board to develop a comprehensive Strategic communication plan, that outlines clearly how CD will be positioned in the market place , what messages CD will focus on and how those messages will be shared

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Advanced degree or equivalent work experience ∙ 3 + years of senior management or Executive Director experience
  • Experience in scaling a public facing organizations with teams distributed nationally ∙ Ability to undertake a data-driven process to diagnose organizational challenges set a clear vision for the future, and mobilize people and resources to realize that vision ∙ Experience with creating Budgets and familiarity with all forms of financial reporting relevant to 501c3 organizations
  • Experience prioritizing limited resources against competing financial goals ∙ Strong product management, and marketing skills ∙ Great communication and relationship building skills ∙ Strong written and verbal communication skills ∙ strongly values diversity and passionate about all voices being heard ∙ Strong leadership[ and collaboration skills ∙ Personal commitment to growth, vulnerability, and self-awareness ∙ Managing or working directly on a sales team as well as familiarity with sales processes and CRM software.
  • Successful experience in cultivating individual fundraising relationships as well as creating Fundraising events
