Intern: Jordan Green Growth Action Plan

GGGI is currently supporting the Government of Jordan with the implementation of the National Green Growth Plan by developing the country’s first National Action Plan for Green Growth.

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the GGGI Jordan Office to support research, consultations and technical writing relating to the development of Jordan’s National Action Plan for Green Growth. The assignment will include (but is not limited to) the following tasks:

  • Desktop research related to the NAP for GG, working closely with GGGI’s local team to ensure stakeholder engagement and high-level support services to government counterparts.
  • Technical writing including the delivery of issue briefs, infographics, reports or presentations needed for the project.  
  • Logistics for various workshops and consultations throughout the internship.

  • Ideal candidates are:
  1. Master’s or Ph.D. students working in the areas of climate change, sustainable development, public policy, public administration or economics. or other similar areas.
  2. Currently studying topics related to green growth and sustainable development such as: solid waste management approaches, sustainable transport, integrated water resource management, renewable energy and energy efficiency, sustainable tourism, and sustainable agriculture.
  3. Familiar with the green growth, climate change and sustainable development agendas of Jordan, including the National Green Growth Plan, the Sustainable Development Goals, the Jordan Economic Growth Plan, the Nationally Determined Contribution, and others.
  4. Fluent in English. Strong English writing skills are essential (writing test required). Fluency in Arabic a strong asset.
  5. Familiar with the structure and functions of various government institutions in Jordan.

 

  • Candidates will be expected to deliver a learning plan at the beginning of the internship, bi-weekly brief of accomplishments, and a final report of findings and reflection as deliverables for the internship.
