Healthcare Assistant - Evenings
Location: Nottingham (requires travel within the area)
Contract type: Fixed Term until 31st of March 2021
Hours per week: 30 (15:30 - 22:00 Mon-Sun rota)
Salary: GBP 16,774 pro rata (GBP 9.22 per hour)


About the role
We are looking for an individual with a professional and ethical approach to their work to join our Independent Living (IL) team as a Healthcare Assistant in Nottingham. As a Healthcare Assistant you will provide invaluable contribution to the Community Crisis Support Service and its users. You will assess clients' needs and develop a care plan to fit them. Your regular duties will involve providing support with personal care, medication prompts, light meal and drinks preparation and emotional support.

The Independent Living (IL) & Crisis Response (CR) service (IL/CR) are dedicated to making lives of vulnerable people a little bit better. We're a small team dotted all over the country that shares the same goal - to help those that need it most.


From picking up groceries to helping out around the house, we're there to make a difference. There's nothing better than knowing the time we spent with someone made them feel safer, happier, and more able to deal with crisis.  


About the person
To be considered for this position you must have following skills and experience:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in health and social care
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent by experience)
  • Ability to communicate with health and social care professionals
  • Ability to deal with service user queries in a diplomatic, professional and confidential manner
  • Knowledge of supporting service users, who may be disabled and/or frail, cognitively impaired.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the service catchment area.
  • IT literate
  • Knowledge of services provided by the NHS and Social Care
  • Good working experience of the delivery of social care support including personal care, feeding and medication prompting
  • Participation in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Full driving licence holder and access to vehicle, ability to use the vehicle on a daily basis for service user visits (business insurance required)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
