Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with established policy and procedures:
Implements and supervises the maintenance programme; Conducts annual technical surveys of all Agency buildings and installations with the assistance of Area Maintenance Supervisions to determine maintenance priorities and the quantities of maintenance required; Carries out contract administration duties in coordination with the Office Engineer including the preparation of bills of quantities, cost estimates for quantities and materials, specifications, tender and contract documentation, interim and final payment certificates, etc. Responsible in coordination with the Office Engineer for the preparation of budgets and for maintenance cost and expenditure control; Implements and supervises other Engineering programmes as directed by the Deputy Field Technical Officer.• These include the maintenance and construction of roads, the repair of reconstruction of refugee shelters, self-help projects, etc.; Prepares an annual work plan for all maintenance and other works under the responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer and updates same at regular intervals; Prepares a monthly maintenance progress report in coordination with the Office Engineer; Performs such other duties as may be assigned.Minimum Qualifications

University degree in civil (or structural) engineering from a university or college recognized by UNRWA

Language
Good knowledge of English and Arabic.
Competencies
Ability to produce sound professional judgment; Ability to work under stress and pressure; Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills; Strong leadership/supervisory skillsDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of valid driving license.
Equivalency
When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the concerned Director may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
