ABOUT WFP

WFP’s Global Strategic Plan 2017–2021 aligns WFP with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and Goals (SDGs). It focuses on ending hunger and contributing to a revitalized global partnership to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Further extensive consultation with the Government and other development partners in Egypt during the second half of 2017 to allow informing and formulating the WFP Egypt Country Strategic Plan for the next 5 years until mid-2023 in line with Egypt’s development priorities, the WFP Egypt Country Office has started implementing the Country Strategic Plan (CSP). The focus of the CSP remains on support to school meals and nutrition support for Pregnant and Lactating Women as integrated part of the national social protection scheme, food assistance for assets and resilience-promotion for smallholder farmers and support to vulnerable Syrian refugees and migrants. To sustain those planned interventions, WFP will be conducting joint monitoring activities with Government representatives of key line Ministries to enforce the concepts of participation, transparency and accountability to its partners. In addition, capacity development activities will be provided to national counterparts and cooperating partners to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability and raising their capacity to conduct monitoring at the local level.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This jobs is found in Egypt Country Office. Job holders will perform different HR tasks and reprot to the relevant HR Head of Unit.
At this level, work is carried out under minimal supervision. Job holders are expected to produce organised and accurate work, undertaking specific business support activities. They may offer guidance on standard practices to more junior staff in their area of work.

JOB PURPOSE

To deliver standard business support processes for the HR unit, to facilitate effective service delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

The business Support Assistant will perform the below HR Generalist roles:

Recruitment:
Provide support in the recruitment processes such as:

  •                   Drafting vacancy announcements
  •                   Handling the recruitment cycle (screening candidates, written exams and conducting panel interviews) for the assigned profiles
  •                  Prepare Competency based questions
  •                  Update applicants on their status
  •                  Partner with different sourcing channels.

Performance Management:

  •          Follow up and assist staff members and supervisors to finalize and submit the performance evaluations on a timely manner.
  •          Monitor the bell curve for performance evaluation results and provide analytical status
  •          Analyze, monitor and report performance gaps, identify needed areas of development

Learning & Development:

  •          Consolidating and Compiling training requests from various units.
  •          Developing and maintaining accurate and easily accessible records and processes for all learning and development activities.
  •          Assisting with periodic reporting such as; creating and maintaining training activity records, updating training records and ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
  •          Perform analysis on participation/ training attendance rates and prepare relevant reports

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Skills:

·         Knowledge of different HR functions and ability to work under minimal supervision.

·         Proficient in the use of different Microsoft office, SAP Knowledge will be an advantage

·         Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and presentation skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to operate and communicate effectively at all levels

·         Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention.

·         Ability to offer guidance or basic on-the-job training to more junior staff

Education: university Degree in related functional area is desirable.

Language: Proficiency in English & Arabic languages.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in Human Resources, Administration or any related field, Or one year on L3, Business support assistant.
