Advisor – Social Media/Digital Content Management (f/m)

Location: International Office, Vienna/Austria

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 135 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year.

Mission

The Newsroom, within Communications and Brand (C&B), is the content-creation hub of SOS Children’s Villages International. It is responsible for creating and distributing content that represents the geographical and programmatic range of the global work of SOS Children’s Villages. With high-quality articles, videos, photos and graphics, it aims to inform, inspire and motivate audiences and encourage engagement and support of our work. The Advisor manages the website and social media channels of the International Office (IO) and is responsible for the marketing of multimedia content on these channels.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the IO’s website and social media channels
  • Ensure that content is published and functioning correctly on the IO’s website and social media channels
  • Project manage Falcon.io (social media CMS)
  • Create webpages, banners and update content in line with the editorial plans, digital strategy, brand positioning and key messages
  • Work with the technical support team to resolve problems and manage enhancements of the international website
  • Develop and launch social media campaigns and follows the global social media trends, launching new channels when appropriate
  • Analyse website and social media performance and report on key metrics
  • Work with content producers and General Secretariat (GSC) stakeholders to ensure the optimal presentation of content on the IO’s digital channels
  • Assist with the development and continuous improvement of the C&B digital strategy
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in digital communication or an undergraduate degree with comparable experience
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in the fields of digital content management and marketing for social media channels and websites. Experience working in an international environment and/or non-profit context would be an asset
  • Excellent CMS and website content management and marketing knowledge
  • Very good knowledge of Photoshop and graphic design
  • Strong understanding of social media landscape and SEO practices
  • Proven track record of writing and editing skills, strong communication skills
  • Excellent languages skills in English both orally and in written form; German would be a distinct asset; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an added value
  • Hands on mentality with excellent planning and organising skills and the ability to think strategically and drive innovation
  • Applicants must hold a valid Austrian working permit or be eligible to work within the EU
