Overall purpose of the role Develop and maintain good relations with the persons of concern, relevant stakeholders and other humanitarian actors, to support adequate implementation and coordination of DRC’s sector activities
Sector responsibilities: Advocacy for the rights of displaced people in their context of displacement, child protection initiatives, individual protection assistance based on vulnerability, legal aid, land & property rights, sexual and gender-based violence prevention, registration services for the internally displaced and refugees, monitoring of rights and rights awareness-raising, facilitation of return and repatriation processes. |

This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities. |

Main responsibilities |
|
|||||||||
Partner Management • Asses quality of partner implementation and provide support to partners where needed
• Provide technical support and inputs to partners
• Reporting
Programming & Operations
• Ensure efficient and effective program implementation while following the budget and work plan
• Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors
• Carrying out monitoring and evaluation exercises for legal aid projects
Coordination and representation
• Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues
• Represent DRC at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
• Ensure integration with other DRC sectors
Project development
• Develop project plans and budgets for funding
• Develop projects tools, including tools for Pillar 4 implementation
• Lead implementation of Pillar 4 in cooperation with TL and field lawyers and reporting
• Monitor and evaluate projects

As the Project Lead the post-holder is responsible for the following:
• Monitoring implementation progress of legal aid projects including OFDA and ECHO projects. • Taking lead on organizing roundtables, drafting and printing information materials • Taking lead on compiling and drafting all legal aid donor reports
• Accountable for ensuring that agreed work plans and tasks set by the next-level up Manager are implemented on time
Supervisor responsibilities: • Coordinates the daily activities of small teams, often comprised of subordinates and/or employees carrying out similar tasks
• Does not have direct line management responsibility for staff, but may contribute to recruitment and/or performance appraisal of members of the team
• Implements the manager’s decisions through the work of subordinate employees, often playing a role in deciding how to do it; and how to achieve the objective set by the manager.

Required experience and competencies |
|
|||||||||
• Minimum 3 years of management experience at a mid to senior level, preferably with experience in the field of humanitarian response and refugee protection working for an international NGO, UN agency, relevant ministry, or local authority. • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in sector area working for an INGO
• Proven management skills and a competence in people management
• Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
• Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Full professional proficiency in English, Russian and Ukrainian
• Field experience
