Reporting To: Office Manager 
Band: H, Officer  
Part time: 70% 
Duration: 11th February to Mid-June 2019 (end date to be determined) 
 
About DRC  
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private, independent, humanitarian organisation working on all aspects of the refugee cause in more than thirty-five countries throughout the world. The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC works in accordance with the UN Conventions on Refugees and the Code of Conduct for the ICRC and NGOs in Disaster Relief.  
The DRC Representation serves as an advocacy and policy-influencing hub that engages with UN agencies, member states to the UN as well as the INGO community in Geneva to influence policies in the area of forced displacement. The Representation seeks to use DRC’s accumulated policy expertise, analytical capacity and wide-ranging operational base in over 35 field missions around the globe to add value to policy debates in Geneva. 
The DRC Representation also hosts different programs as the Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS), the Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) as well as the Secretariat of the Humanitarian to Humanitarian Network (H2H), all together forming the Geneva Office. 
 
Job Summary 
The Supply Chain Officer (SCO) forms part of the Admin/Finance/Logistics support team of the DRC office and is reports directly to the Office Manager. The SCO performs all tasks related to the wider scope of Supply Chain related tasks as procurement of services of goods. The SCO also provides support to any other relevant task to support the Geneva Office. The position is a Maternity Cover and is estimated to not exceed 6 months.
 
Tasks 
Under the direction of the Office Manager, the duties of the SCO shall include, but are not limited to the following: 
 
Supply Chain 
  • Execute all forms of procurement of goods and services of all entities of the Geneva office- this refers particularly to all procurement of flights, suppliers and issuing contracts for consultants; 
  • Ensure full compliance with regulations and processes (DRC Dynamics) according to DRC regulations and possible donor specifications; 
  • Ensure proper documentation of all procurement processes and facilitate links to project management, finance and budgeting entities; 
  • Ensure proper communication and coordination with service providers; 
  • Participate in trainings and support improvement of DRC policies and processes related to Supply Chain tasks; 
 
Logistics 
  • Preparations for official meetings and basic supplies for office and office kitchen 
 
 
Other 
  • Any other responsibility formally assigned to you; 
 
 
Essential qualifications 
  • Studies or work experience related to Administration, Supply Chain and Office Management. 
  • Team player 
  • Problem-Solver 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong Word and Excel skills 
  • Fluency in English is a must, a good command in French is desirable 
We offer  
DRC offers a regular employment contract with the full application of all Swiss legislative norms and provisions (including the application of income tax, social security and mandatory insurances).  
This is a part time position at around 70%, according to personal agreements. The salary offered will be the adequate portion of a full-time arrangement with a gross salary of app. 4’600 CHF.
