Job Description
Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. The International Rescue Committee began relief operations in Jordan in 2007. Working together with six national and international organizations, and 19 community-based organizations, the IRC has provided 20,000 vulnerable Iraqi refugees with humanitarian assistance, mental health support and informal education. Job Overview/Summary: Under the supervision of the Administration Manager, the Facilities Management – Deputy Manager will support in supervising maintenance and cleaning-related activities at IRC’s premises in Jordan, undertaking activities and perform duties in compliance with IRC policies and procedures to ensure that they meet the needs of the organization and its employees. In addition to recommending and coordinating improvements to the property as needed to ensure a safe, functional, and appealing space. Major Responsibilities: Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: Administration Manager Indirect Reporting: Support Services Coordinator
Position directly supervises: 10 cleaners
Qualifications
Education: University Degree in the field of Business administration, management or any other relevant field. Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the management of facilities, preferably with an international NGO or multi-national firm. Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Self-motivated, honest, highly responsible, and punctual, Ability to improvise and be flexible when needed working under pressure, customer service oriented, problem solving skills, detail oriented, understanding of building codes and safety regulations and excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Language Skills: very good in Arabic and English IT: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Standards IRC staff must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way – Global Standards for Professional Conduct.
