At Amnesty International we’re always looking for innovative ways to help ordinary people change the world. That’s why we want to realise all of the new possibilities technology and digital have to offer. We want you to lead innovation in our digital campaigning, with a special focus on helping our supporters contribute to our human rights research and investigations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Sitting within Amnesty’s London office and working in conjunction with cross functional teams across locations, you’ll be responsible for leading campaigning on Amnesty’s pioneering Decoders projects and for identifying and promoting innovation in digital campaigning strategy, tactics and activism.

Amnesty Decoders is a human rights citizen science platform where several thousand digital volunteers contribute to ground breaking human rights investigations and research. Since its launch in June 2016, we have successfully completed five Decoders projects mobilizing tens of thousands of volunteers from more than 150 countries. Volunteers have analysed thousands of hours’ worth of data, contributing directly to human rights analysis and impact in new ways. You will inspire people to take injustice personally, identify key opportunities for these kinds of digital projects and collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful execution of digital strategy goals. You will also make sure we are mainstreaming and scaling new tools, techniques and technologies within Amnesty’s research, monitoring and campaigning functions.

ABOUT YOU
To meet this challenge, you’ll need a proven track record in strategic campaigning, campaigning methods and tactics and a clear understanding of what motivates people to take action. You will have applied experience in managing the development and implementation of innovation projects, or of technology-based projects, with experience working with social media data/remote sensing and other forms of digital information streams highly desirable. You will be able to identify new digital campaigning opportunities and come up with innovative solutions (including digital platforms and channels) to help Amnesty drive new forms of supporter engagement.

You will be highly adept at using technology for engaging with audiences, growing support base, and applying digital marketing techniques to increase impact. Having worked with a variety of digital platforms, you’ll also possess strong technical expertise on a variety of web and social media platforms and analytics packages; and a thorough understanding of how data needs to flow through and between these systems. Your passion for digital campaigning & activism and innate desire to know the latest trends will also enable you to identify opportunities as they arise.
